Description:
Discusses the physical development of the infant, including: hand-eye coordination, sensory development, developmental norms. Also, looks at principles of growth and development and developmentally appropriate practice.
Learning Outcomes:
Be able to:
1. Identify normal ranges of infant physical development.
2. Identify normal ranges of infant development of hand-eye coordination.
3. Identify normal ranges of infant sensory development.
4. Understand developmental norms.
5. Recognize and respect cultural relevance for developmental norms.
6. Recognize the importance of developmentally appropriate practice in child care facilities.
